There's a lot going on in the world and sometimes we all need to get away from our screens and touch grass. That's why we're introducing Trail Mix, a casual walkabout series at Bur Oak preserves. Who should attend? Anyone! These walks are for those who: Want to get out in nature but may not have someone to go with May not have experience on nature trails Are new to the area Are looking to connect with others Bring your camera, nature journal or guide, favorite nature app or simply yourself. You can talk about the local plants and animals, what you've been up to or nothing at all. Nature has a powerful way of healing and bringing people together. That's what these walks are about. So, if this is what you're about — join us! Trails are unpaved, include natural tripping hazards and may be steep at times. Walks will be held weather permitting.
