Learn about the bats, birds and bugs that come out at night! When we think of night flyers, bats are the first animals to come to mind. Moths, migrating birds and many other creatures depend on darkness for survival, too. Explore a different side of Corriell Nature Preserve during this evening program from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and stay for the night hike from 6:30-7 p.m. Education stations include: The night sky and light pollution Bird education with Raptology Echolocation and make your own bat ears A closer look at moths This family-friendly event sponsored by ACT is free to attend, but registration is required. Corriell Nature Preserve is near Atalissa in Muscatine County, about 35 minutes from downtown Iowa City. This preserve is closed to the public and access is permitted through special events. The address will be sent to you the week of the event.
