DETAILS
This summer, we're hosting two hikes at Corriell Nature Preserve. Join us to see Iowa's native cactus in bloom during the Blooming Cactus Hike or a different view of the preserve during Savanna at Sunset Hike. Corriell Nature Preserve is one of Bur Oak's most biologically diverse preserves. In addition to the cactus and savanna, Corriell boasts an impressive oxbow wetland, beaver dam and sedge meadow. Things to know: The preserve is located about 25 miles east of Iowa City in Muscatine County and is only accessible to the public through events or by permission. Be prepared to walk a couple of miles, bring your own water, and pack out whatever you bring in. Contact info@buroaklandtrust.org or call 319-338-7030 with questions. Blooming Cactus Hike is part of the Bur Oak Hiking Club. A full calendar of dates is online at buroaklandtrust.org/bur-oak-hiking-club-calendar.
