DETAILS

Creeks are magical places and important for all kinds of wildlife. Join us from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 20 at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve for a closer look at all of the creatures creeks support. Please register only one vehicle per group. We will provide nets for you to skim the water for bugs and crayfish and underwater viewers to see what's going on underneath the surface. You can search the creek bed for fossils, look for fish and clams, and learn to identify tracks of animals commonly found at the preserve. This program is suitable for children — and adults — of all ages! Activities for the littlest kids will also be available. Plus, we'll have Moo Moo's Ice Cream truck on site from 10:30-11:30 a.m.! The event is free, but registration is required. This event is sponsored by ACT. Meet you at the creek! **If you plan to walk the creek, please wear secure footwear like water shoes to avoid losing a shoe in the mud or stepping on a rock. You may also want to bring a bottle of water, sunscreen and bug spray.**
