DETAILS

Learn how humans impact aquatic life and the ways we can create lasting memories while supporting one of our most important ecosystems! Join us from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 26 at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve to explore interactive stations all about watersheds! From the hidden lives of mussels and clams, to ancient fossils and the importance of crayfish and crawly insects - each station will reveal the biodiversity at Turkey Creek. Get your Crayfish Crawl passport stamped at each station for a special prize. Hop in the water to become a scientist yourself using underwater viewers, nets and other tools! The event is free and suitable for children — and adults — of all ages! Registration is required. See you at the creek! **If you plan to walk the creek, please wear secure footwear like water shoes to avoid losing a shoe in the mud or stepping on a rock. You may also want to bring a bottle of water, sunscreen and bug spray. **There are no restrooms at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve. The nearest restrooms are located at nearby gas stations about 10 mins drive from the preserve.
